Today we will analyze a character who, in his ups and downs, has won the hearts of many fans of the Marvel world, the protagonist of this first special episode of Aperit-Hero Savior is Thor, who we consider to be not only the strongest Avenger, but the strongest character in the entire Marvel universe
This first episode of Aperit-Hero is very particular, in fact it starts with the sub-heading Savior (here you will find the introduction of the new column where we explain everything), in which we will talk about the character played by Chris Hemsworth. The protagonist of this Aperit-Hero Savior is Thor, the strongest Avenger. Before you start having your say, let’s analyze why Thor is Marvel’s strongest character (Spoiler: we’re not talking about physical strength or power).

Let’s start from the beginning: Thor is about to be crowned by Allfather Odin as new king of Asgard. The hero is young, inexperienced and very arrogant, unaware of the responsibilities he is about to take on as the new king at the head of the Nine Kingdoms. Fortunately (or unfortunately), the Frost Giants interrupt the coronation. Thor, enraged, chaos spreads to Jotunheimendangering not only his friends, but also his brother Loki, who tried to advise him not to do things he might regret. Odin, deeply disappointed by the arrogant and reckless behavior of his son, banishes Thor to Midgard (in human language, the Earth). Here the God of Thunder begins to change thanks to a character who will be fundamental to his change: Jane Foster.
The exile from Asgard begins to progressively change Thor’s mentality, not only because he regrets his actions, but also thanks tolove that blossoms between him and Dr. Jane. Living a life as a human, as a mere mortal, devoid of powers and the wealth of his family, Thor begins to appreciate the little things, such as being in the company of his new friends, wearing civilian clothes or even simply drinking a cup of coffee. All obviously with some very funny comic gags (but in line with the character, right, Taika Waititi?). Things change when Lady Sif and the Warriors Three they go to Midgard and find Thor to warn him about Loki who is continuing the slaughter of the Frost Giants that Thor had started. Having learned humility and what is right to do, Odin returns his powers to his son, making him again worthy of the powers of the God of Thunder. This is the crucial point: where Thor understands his mistakes, makes amends and stops Loki, who was about to make the same mistake as his half-brother, if not worse. After the fight against the God of Deceit, Thor has changed.

Let’s take a leap in time and arrive at Avengers Infinity War. During his journey there isn’t much to say, Thor continues to fight alongside the Avengers, becomes a hero known to the Nine Realms and understands who he really is. There is a big but, as big as the first giant Ymir: Thor has lost everything. That’s not hyperbole, that’s not an exaggeration, Thor literally lost everyone he loved. A scene in Infinity War, precisely when Thor finds himself talking to Rocket Raccoon, gives an account of everything he went through from his exile on Midgard until Thanos’ arrival. The God of Thunder literally makes a list: he lost his mother Friggakilled by the dark elf king Malekith, his father Odin, died of old age, the Warriors Three Fandral, Hogun and Volstaggkilled by his sister Hela, dead around you, his best friend Heimdallstabbed in the heart by Thanos, his hammer Mjolnirdestroyed by the Goddess of Death Hela, her house, destroyed by Surtur in the advent of Ragnarok. But more importantly, Thor lost his brother Loki.
Despite the many battles, the many arguments, the chaos that had broken out, Thor loved his brother Loki more than anything. Loki was the most important person in the Thunderer’s life, they had grown up together, fought together and had helped each other every time one of them got into trouble, laughing, joking and slapping each other for the many pranks, both from Loki and of Thor. Even though they had different blood, even though Thor was an Asgardian and Loki a Jotnar, the two were brothers. When Thanos also killed his brother by breaking his neck, Thor’s soul was broken. He had sworn that he would avenge Loki’s death by killing Thanos, which he actually did, but after Thanos had wiped out half the universe. She had avenged his brother by killing Thanos at the beginning of Endgame, but he had lost. Thor, the one who seemed unbeatable, invulnerable and invincible, he fell into deep depression.

Let’s get to the crux of the matter: Thor is the strongest Avengerbut also the strongest Marvel character. It’s not about muscles, it’s not about physical strength, much less power. Thor is the strongest Avenger because he continued to fight. Even though he fell into depression and remained stagnant for 5 years, Thor never stopped fighting, even after everything he went through. A very important message they gave us in Avengers Endgame is that it doesn’t matter how many times you fall, the important thing is to get back up and come back stronger than before. Thor is a very complex character and he certainly is the hero who suffered most of all. Sure, the Marvel world is full of tragedies, many have a painful past behind them, but Thor is left with nothing. In the latest film, Thor Love and Thunder, Jane Foster also losesthe woman he loved and met again years after the couple separated due to cancer.
Even though Waititi played down the drama (even too much) the tragedy of Thor’s life, this character has one of the best stories ever seen in the MCU. The fact that his story is not over yet gives hope that his future will be brighter. There is still hope, two actually, one for us and one for the character. Thor will return to being a serious character, treated with due respect, it is rumored that he will be the next director Gareth Edwardswhich he directed 2014’s Godzilla and Rogue One. Additionally, there is one important person in Thor’s life who remained alive: Lady Sif. This character told little, but with their past, especially with the fact that Sif has always been in love with Thor, she represents a hope for a happy future for the God of Thunder. In addition, of course, to reunion between Thor and Loki, which will definitely happen in the next films. One thing is certain: the sun will shine on him again.
