Apple recently opened a new one structure dedicated to product testing a Cork, thus expanding its presence in Europe. Let’s find out all the details together.
Apple opens product testing facility in Cork
In the 2020 Apple bought a former Banta warehouse complex; the new testing facility near the campus Hollyhill Apple in Cork will now be used for check products in various ways. Engineers and technicians working at the facility will use equipment including electron microscopes e scanner CT to examine the products, reports the Irish Examiner.
The aim is to find potential methods for improve durability of the product performance Apple.
The test center is alone Apple’s third in the worldand it cost tens of millions of euros to convert, as well as employ 300 workers for its renovation. While the original structure of the warehouse has been maintained, the interiors have been renewed.
Cathy KearnyApple’s vice president of European operations said the new center is based in Cork thanks to 40 years of historyat the expertise in the area and to quality of the team of Cork existing. Kearny said:
It is a natural evolution from all the investments of the last few years. The goal of this facility is to ensure the best product, durability and performance, and the lab team here will test and analyze the entire Apple product range. This property is the first of its kind in Europe and we are delighted to have it here in Cork.
Kearny also dealt with other search operations based in Cork, including theartificial intelligence and theautomatic learning.
We started that team at the end of 2019. Despite the COVID, that team has grown: now it has over 680 people and continues to grow. It’s a really, really diverse team with over 20 nationalities and a huge variety of experiences.
So the new engineering and testing facility and teams like AIML are really exciting additions to the work we do in Cork. It’s really cool to see all the skills we’re building here and how they relate to the work we do.
