Apple Podcasts is launching new collections “Listen With” to give users a new way to discover podcasts. Let’s find out more details together.
The new Apple Podcasts “Listen With” collections
The Cupertino company says this new feature helps users to discover new shows sharing what popular artists, authors, directors, journalists, influencers and other podcasters are listening to. Each collection includes some shows and quotes about the because they were selected.
The collections are curated by Apple’s editorial team and are currently only available in the United States and Canada. Users can find them in the “browse” section of the Apple Podcasts app.
The first collection is with Jay Shetty, author, life coach and former monk. In her collection, Shetty recommends “A Slight Change of Plans” with Maya Shankar from Pushkin Industries; “Anything goes con Emma Chamberlain” di Ramble; “How I Built This con Guy Raz” di NPR; “We Can Do Hard Things con Glenn Doyle” di Cadence13 and “SuperSoul” by Oprah.
Listen With is Apple’s third publishing franchise. The company launched its publishing franchise “Spotlight” last year for highlight podcast creators on the rise in the United States. Apple’s editorial team selects new podcast creators to feature every month. It later offers them prominent space in the app and promotes them on social media. Apple also has a “Kids & Family” collection curated in collaboration with Common Sense Media.
Apple works hard for expand its podcast platform and she is clearly not the only one to do so. For example, Spotify has spent more $ 800 million in podcast companies come Anchor, the Ringer, Gimlet Media e Megaphone. SiriusXM, meanwhile, bought the Simplecast podcast management and analytics platform, the AdsWizz technology platform, and the Stitcher app.
