Apple suspends App Store ads in Russia
Apple has notified its developers via email, warning that the tool Apple Search Ads will not be available in Russian territory for the time being. This means that no new advertising campaigns can start on the App Store in Russia, until a date yet to be decided.
At the moment it is impossible to understand how long the suspension may last. But it seems likely that it will stand as long as sanctions against the Kremlin for the invasion of Ukraine are.
Apple’s decision comes after the announcement of many other important positions taken by the Cupertino company, which is following with several measures the conflict in Ukraine. It has in fact stopped selling products in Russia, blocking shipments of new products and doubling the price of those already delivered. It also pulled media apps near the Kremlin from the App store RT e Sputnik.
The Cupertino company also stands donating twice as much they are doing his employees for Ukraine, as well as raise funds on their website and through the App Store. For the moment, however, it is limiting the boycott of Russia to trade agreements and stopping propaganda, avoiding as much as possible targeting the Russian population.
