A post by user EntertainmentMission on the subreddit of Armored Core showed a photo of the game box taken in a Japanese store (empty boxes of upcoming games are often on display in Japan). According to the back of the box, Armored Core 6 will support the multiplayer online per 2-6 players. An additional section, however, also hints that other players will be able to spectator, stating that the whole thing: “Supports up to 6 players. They can participate up to 9 people at the same time, including spectators”. Announced at The Game Awards last December, the sixth installment in the FromSoftware series marks the first new Armored Core game in more than a decade, the latest being Armored Core 5 in 2012.

In April, Bandai Namco has released the first gameplay trailer of Armored Core 6also confirming that the title (of which the multiplayer) will come out on August 25th. Instead, it caused a catastrophe that engulfed the planet and surrounding stars in flames and storms, resulting in a Burning Star System. Almost half a century later, Coral it resurfaced on Rubicon 3, a planet now contaminated and isolated by the catastrophe. Extraterrestrial corporations and resistance groups vie for control of the substance. The player will infiltrate Rubicon as independent mercenary and he will find himself fighting for substance with the corporations and other factions.”
