The Chinese manufacturer marks the end of 2023 with the launch of its latest excellence: the AYANEO KUN, a device with Windows OS with AMD Ryzen processor that would seem to defeat the competition
Presenting itself as the definitive solution for portable gaming, Ayaneo Kun will be launched on the market by the manufacturer Ayaneo on September 5th from 15:00 UTC with a starting price corresponding to 999 dollars.
The new device offers exceptional power and quality thanks to the AMD Ryzen 7 7840U (8C/16T) processor and to the 8.4-inch IPS QHD+ 60hz display, which, despite having larger dimensions than those of its competitors, does not compromise what is probably the most important aspect of a laptop: battery life, which in this case is from 75Wh (19500mAh).

From a technical point of view, the device offers three different colors called White Silk, Black Feather and Silver Wing, and four different formats regarding the dimensions of the RAM LPDDR5X and of theSSD M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0: 16G + 512G / 32G + 1TB / 32G + 2TB / 64G + 4TB. Furthermore, the laptop features a display with 2560×1600 resolution, 350PPI and a maximum brightness of 500 nits. The machine, made entirely of smooth plastic, has a weight of 950 grams con dimensions 312.4*132.5*21.9mm and houses a full size USB port, a USB type c port and facial and fingerprint recognition sensors.
Despite the excellent specifications, this device still presents important oversights on the part of the manufacturer, which, if sometimes they are subjective, other times are undoubtedly objective: this is the case of the update frequency of the display (60hz)which in most situations of use, is limiting in terms of the performance of the computer, which, although it uses an integrated graphics card in the CPU, has nothing to envy of a common Desktop PC in terms of framerates.
Other criticisms that the Ayaneo Kun has received from the community are: the position of the two trackpads, which often receive an involuntary input (given by the hand that is using the keys above them) ruining a hypothetical game action; or the lack of a properly designed body, which, for example, has a rough surface that favors a good grip on the support position of the two palms.
So, all things considered, users have expressed various criticisms of this device, which however, probably thanks to its CPU, remains in pole position from a benchmark point of view.
