In total they are well present in the game 10 characters that can join you but, given the vastness of the title, it is not at all easy to find them all in a single game. Lae’Zel | Baldur’s Gate 3: Where to find all companions
Let’s start by talking about one of the easiest characters to recruit: Lae’Zel. This Githyanki is a phenomenal fighter and she will be the first friendly face you meet on the nautiloide. As long as you remain on board the mind flayer vessel this PC will always remain at your side but, once you crash the vessel, will disappear without a trace.
Luckily after her disappearance you won’t have to wait much longer before finding her, since Lae’Zel will be just northeast of where the nautiloid crashed. Unfortunately, when you find her again, she will be a warrior locked inside a suspended cagea and before you can free her you will have to defeat his captors or convince them to leave. Once the way is clear just hit the cage with an arrow or a spell to free Lae’Zel and allow her to join your party.
Freeing this PC from the cage is the fastest way to recruit him but if desired there is also an alternative method. In case you can’t find Lae’Zel near the nautiloid in fact, you can find it near the bridge in the far north of the regiona mandatory step before moving on to the next area.
Darkheart | Baldur’s Gate 3: Where to find all companions

Gale is a dry extremely powerful that you can easily recruit immediately after the nautiloid crash. In fact, continuing north you will find this companion stuck inside the stage located at the Cliffs Along the Road. To free him, simply interact with the circle of seals and pass one of the many skill tests necessary to get him out. Once free Gale will immediately join your team and it will continue to follow you as long as you want it.

Astarion is another really easy character to find. In fact, this very skilled thief will be found immediately east of where the nautiloid crashed. Wyll, also known as the border blade, is a very powerful warlock who has taken on the task of protecting the inhabitants of the sword coast from any danger. Finding this companion will be really easy, given that you can easily meet him by exploring the interior of the emerald grove. However, if you were to recruit Karlach before him, then you will not be able to meet him at the grove and you will have to wait for him to come to your camp after you complete the goblin mission.

To find Karlach you will have to head north and overcome a mountain path full of dangerous hyenas and bloodthirsty gnolls. Once you defeat these creatures you will be able to find them easily a trail of corpses pointing towards a house.
Several are holed up inside the structure paladins who will declare that they were attacked by Karlach and by talking to them you can have them reveal that the companion hides on the river bank to the south. Once you find Karlach all you need to do is talk to her and promise to help her to join your team.
Halsin | Baldur’s Gate 3: Where to find all companions
Halsin is a very powerful druid as well the leader of the emerald grove. Minthara | Baldur’s Gate 3: Where to find all companions
Minthara it definitely is one of the hardest characters to recruit in all of Baldur’s Gate 3. This drow indeed is one of the three main pure souls present at the goblin camp and, if you intend to help the emerald grove, you will necessarily have to kill her.
However, if you are not interested in having the support of the druids and want to recruit Minthara at all costs, then just talk to her and tell her the location of the tiefling camp. Next you will have to return to the emerald grove, talk to Zevlor, blow the horn and then deliver the Tieflings to Minthara. Once this was done the Drow he won’t join your team immediately and in the future you will be able to find it again at moonrise towers. You can meet this woman for the first time at the inn of the last light but you will not be able to recruit her until you have completed all of act 2. Soon after the All One’s forces clear the path to Baldur’s Gate you will in fact be able to find Jaheira at your camp and by talking to her you will easily be able to convince her to join you.

Minsc is the absolute last character you can recruit and find you will have to follow Jaheira’s personal mission. Once recruited at the end of Act 2, Jaheira will ask you to meet the harpists at the dragon bridge. Do as she asks and she will then tell you about her desire go in search of his friend Minsc.
