After Grand Finals from Tekken 7 all’EVO 2022, Bandai Namco showed a breve teaser trailer of what, apparently, appears to be a new chapter in the franchise, that is Tekken 8. Will it really be like this or is it some remake / reboot? Let’s find out all the details together.
Tekken 8 announced with a short teaser trailer?
After the Tekken 7 Grand Finals, Bandai Namco has decided to amaze its players with a mysterious and particular teaser trailer.
The teaser begins with a shot of Kazuya that carries Heihachi to the edge of a precipicebefore moving on to a close-up of Mishima. Afterward, her face takes on a look much more next-generation and the words “Get Ready” appear briefly to the side, suggesting that an official announcement from Bandai Namco could be on the horizon.
However, the teaser trailer is still shrouded in an aura of mystery: it really is a new chapter of the famous franchise? Or we are faced with something completely different, like a remake?
Some users have suggested that given the amount of time devoted to the first title in the Tekken franchise at EVO 2022, the teaser trailer could indicate that a reboot or maybe a remake is currently in development at Bandai Namco. The developer did not provide further detailsto the delight and frustration of fighting game fans.
The most recent chapter in the series, Tekken 7was released worldwide for PS4, Xbox One and PC on June 2, 2017. The game received mostly positive reviews, from both gamers and critics alike, becoming a commercial success within a few months. Tekken 7 has currently sold more than 9 million copiesbreaking the franchise record previously held by Tekken 3.
Tekken 7 has been a benchmark in fighting games tournaments it’s us festivals such as the EVO for several years. Both professional and casual gamers are eagerly awaiting a sequel.
