Battlefield 2042: open beta date revealed

Electronic Arts and DICE announced today, in a new trailer, that the Battlefield 2042 open beta will be available starting October 8 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC; EA Play members and anyone who pre-orders the game can get access two days early on October 6th. All players can pre-download it starting October 5th.

The Battlefield 2042 open beta will feature the iconic experience Conquest on the Orbital map, previously shown in the game reveal trailer. Those who play from PC and next-gen consoles will be able to experience the new and epic battles a 128 players (64 players on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One) through the Conquest game mode, on a large scale, and will be able to fight for control of the key points of the objectives on the map.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the Total war iconic of the franchise, as one of only four specialists each with their own individual style, specialty and traits. Players can step into the shoes of Boris, a Russian engineer equipped with an SG-36; Casper, a South African expert in camouflage and long-range attacks; Falck, a skilled German physician who specializes in support; and Mackay, a Canadian and nomadic hiker who is equipped with a grapple gun.

During a Conquest game, players will experience Battlefield’s dynamic maps, featuring an auto-launch sequence for the rocket, a zipline crossing through lightning towers, vehicle combat in adverse weather conditions, including an unexpected tornado that alters the flow of battle, and much more.

Finally, the blog series, Battlefield Briefing, continues until the start of the Open Beta, with the new Progression and Cosmetic Items developer blog online on the game’s official website. Battlefield 2042 is available now for pre-order and will launch in stores and online on November 19 at a price of 59.99 euros for PC, 69.99 euros for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and 79.99 euros for Xbox Series X and S and PlayStation 5.
