A new ranking drawn up by Game Industry certifies the best-selling games in September 2023. Not only that, the report also highlights which were the best-selling consoles and accessories of the month.
Here are the best-selling games of September 2023
In total, 3.5 million games were sold during the month (+1% compared to September 2022).
It was the best-selling title by far EA Sports FC 24 (here is our review), called upon to take up the heavy legacy of the FIFA franchise. The game managed to have a solid launch, with sales only 8% lower than the FIFA 23 launch (there was expected to be a drop due to the rebranding).
The second best-selling game of the month is an Xbox exclusive: Starfield. Again, this isn’t a big surprise, given the incredible anticipation for the launch of Bethesda’s new title. It should be considered that Starfield has been included on Game Pass since day one. With this in mind, it is interesting to note that two-thirds of the game’s sales were on PC.
The podium closes Mortal Kombat 1although down 24% compared to the launch of Mortal Kombat 11 in 2019. It is worth remembering that this ranking is relative to the English market, where the MK franchise is popular, but decidedly less so than in North America and Japan.
Outside the podium we find the new NBA 2K24 (down 26% compared to NBA 2K23), Hogwarts Legacy, Payday 3 and the eternal GTA V. They close the top 10 Red Dead Redemption 2, Minecraft (which is currently the best-selling game of all time) and The Crew Motorfest.
