Electronic Arts (EA) revealed this morning that Cliffhanger Games, a new triple-A studio, is working on the video game of Black Panther. The announcement came in the form of a post on EA’s official blog, in which the popular publisher lets it be known that the game is the result of collaboration with Marvel Games.
For the development of the title, Cliffhanger will begin a process of recruiting new developers.
“The mission is to build an expansive and responsive world that allows players to experience what it’s like to assume the mantle of the protector of Wakanda, Black Panther,” writes EA in an official press release. “As we begin this extraordinary journey, we are thrilled to partner with Marvel Games to ensure we deliver every aspect of Wakanda, its technology, its heroes and our original story with the attention to detail and authenticity that the world of Black Panther deserves”.
What we know about the Black Panther video game
At the moment the details on the game are scarce if not absent. However, EA lets us know that the title will be a video game single-player with third person view. We also learn from the blog post that the study will be led by Kevin Stephens (by Monolith Productions). The team of developers includes veterans who have already worked on successful video game franchises such as Halo Infinite, God of War, Call of Duty .
