Cannibal Holocaust will be republished in a restored, and above all complete, version between 21 and 23 August 2023: here is the poster and trailer
Cat People Distribuzione has just released the new poster and trailer created for the occasion of the re-release of Cannibal Holocaust, the famous and controversial film directed by the late Ruggero Deodato in 1980 which will return to Italian cinemas for the first time in a complete version restored in 4K. It will be prohibited for children under 18 years of age (16 when accompanied by an adult) and free of cuts. This is the official plot:
Four young and enthusiastic New York documentary filmmakers disappear in the Amazon rainforest during the filming of a documentary on indigenous tribes. Anthropologist Harold Monroe (Robert Kerman) goes in search of the missing but, once he comes into contact with the local cannibals, all he can find are the crew’s 16mm film reels that will reveal the boys’ tragic fate disappeared.

Cruel, extreme, explicit, shocking, sometimes revolting. Can a film that condemns sensationalism itself be sensationalist? The cast of the film includes Robert Kerman (Professor Harold Monroe), Francesca Ciardi (Faye Daniels), Perry Pirkanen (Jack Anders), Luke Barbareschi (Mark Tomaso), Salvatore Basile (Chaco), Carl Gabriel Yorke (Alan Yates), Guillermo (Felipe Ocaña), Ricardo Fuentes, Enrico Papa, David Sage, Kate Weiman, Lionello Pio Di Savoia, Luigina Rocchi, Eva Bravo and Ruggero Deodato. Instead, the composer took care of the music and its famous main theme Riz Ortolani. Appointment therefore at August 21st to see for the first time uncensored this cult.
