The ChatGPT AI is depopulating everywhere and, starting today, it has also arrived on Microsoft Word, through a special third extension (therefore not released by Microsoft) called Ghostwriter. The service, which requires a paid subscription, allows you to use AI directly within Word.
We remind you that the use of ChatGPT, the conversational AI developed by OpenAI, it’s free. However, its application in Word using Ghostwriter requires a tiered subscription.
How Ghostwriter works: the add-on that brings ChatGPT to Microsoft Word
The add-on, made by Creative Data Studios, includes several features. Specifically, the Word Basic Edition package, which costs $10, offers:
- Windows, Mac, Web support for Office 2019/2021/MSFT365
- Integration with ChatGPT
- About 2 paragraphs answer
- Bug fix support for 1 year
- Single login
The Word Pro Edition, which costs $25, includes:
- All the features of the basic package
- Integration with all OpenAI AIs (not just ChatGPT)
- Configurable responses
- Bug fixes and free updates
- Single login
We remind you that Ghostwriter is a third-party extension, which means that if in the future Microsoft were to launch its own AI, the add-on could be removed. In any case, for those wishing to try it, the extension can be purchased on the official website.
