After more than twenty years of absence, Chicken Run 2 is about to arrive at the BFI London Film Festival, the sequel to the successful animated film
The 2000s were a golden age for animated films. Precisely in those years films were born that made history and are still remembered today. Among these we cannot fail to mention Chickens on the runfeature film made with the stop-motion technique, directed by Peter Lord e Nick Park. The cartoon transported the viewer to an intensive chicken farm, where the poor animals were forced to lay eggs all day long, under the clutches of ruthless farmers, until they decided to try to escape. The film was highly successful upon its release. Now, after more than twenty years, it seems that a new chapter is about to come out, on the occasion of London Film Festival. The new film will be called Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nuggets. Here are all the details.
The second chapter | Hens on the Run 2: the presentation of a new chapter at the London Film Festival
The idea of making a second chapter had already circulated in 2018, when it was announced that he would be the director Sam Fell to take care of the project, alongside the animation studio Aardman Animations. Now we can also tell you with certainty that Galline in Fuga 2 will debut, in preview, at London Film Festival 2023. To mark the event, the film will be screened in the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall on 14 October 2023. Additional screenings will be held simultaneously in cinemas across the UK. After successfully escaping Tweedy’s farm, Gaia has finally found her dream: a peaceful island refuge for the whole herd, away from the dangers of the human world. When she and Rocky give birth to a chick named Molly, Gaia’s happy ending seems complete. But on land, the entire chicken race faces a terrible new threat. Gaia and her team will once again raid their former prison/chicken coop, even if it means risking their hard-won freedom.
