Cisco celebrates an important milestone: 25 years of Cisco Networking Academy
This is an important milestone for Cisco, which launched the longest running IT training program in the world 25 years ago. Cisco Networking Academy. Also in Italy this program has achieved great success with 352 active Academies (70% in schools and universities and 30% in training centers, public institutions and non-profit organizations).
In Italiafurthermore, Cisco opened an Academy inside a prison (Bollate), a project that was then extended to 8 prisons and 1,200 prisoners. In our country there is also the collaboration with the Community of Sant’Egidio told in the documentary Second Chance by Erika Brenna.
Today, the Cisco Networking Academy offers various opportunities such as training at schools and universities, “Carrer Ready” professional certification paths, Cybersecurity Scholarship, Programming and Partnership for employment as well as SKILLS FOR ALL, a digital platform for self-learning training.
L’CEO of Cisco Italy, Gianmatteo Manghi underlines: “We have a goal within three years of training over 200,000 people, continuing the growth path undertaken in recent years. We will be able to do this thanks to the ever-widening network of collaborations, projects, initiatives in which we but also our partners and customers are involved: the Academies are an essential talent pool for the entire ICT ecosystem and for other companies, which have more and more need for digital skills. We will continue to work on schools, which represent 70 percent of our Academies, but also on all people who apply for professional qualification and retraining “
