Following a successful launch last month in the US and UK, TikTok announces the arrival of the function Add Song in 19 countries around the world, including Italy.
Add song, the new TikTok feature
The new feature gives users the ability to save the songs they discover on TikTok on music streaming platforms. These include Amazon Music and Spotify. Add Track will soon be available in 19 new markets: Italy, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Canada, Colombia. But also the United Arab Emirates, the Philippines, France, Germany, Japan, Ireland, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, South Africa, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam.
Add TikTok song, how it works
The function Add Song was designed to allow users to quickly and easily save songs to their favorite streaming service as soon as they discover them on TikTok. Specifically, the new feature will appear at the bottom of a video in For You with an Add Song button next to the track title. Thus inviting users to save it on their preferred platform. The first time the user taps the button they will be able to choose their preferred music streaming platform.
Each song will then be added to a default playlist according to the platform, but it will also be possible to choose to add it to new or already created playlists by the user. After the first use, the selected music app will also become the default for songs that are added later. You can change it at any time from the settings.
What is the new function for?
“We’ve already had an incredible response to the launch of ‘Add Song’ in the US and UK.” She commented Ole Obermann, Global Head of Music Business Development di TikTok. “Music fans are eagerly embracing the opportunity to save music from TikTok directly to their favorite streaming services.
This encourages the discovery of new music, helping to transform an ever-increasing number of songs into authentic hits. We’re really excited to bring this feature to millions of more music fans around the world, giving artists even more opportunities to reach new audiences and grow their careers.”
