Creative SXFI THEATER review: a cinema in the ears

In this review we will analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the Creative SXFI THEATER. Wireless headphones that amazed me from so many points of view

The world of headphones it is a reality that has always particularly fascinated me. The charm is perhaps dictated by the uniqueness of the product, by the feedback we have when we try on different brands and models. Today’s review focuses on a pair of headphones from medium / high range, in particular we talk about the Creative SXFI THEATER. There are many strengths that I found in this pair of headphones, starting from the design through to theDedicated app ending with the overall audio quality. Below is one Description detailed which aims to immerse you in this auditory experience.

Creative SXFI THEATER Review | Packaging and Unboxing

The packaging of the headphones is really beautiful. The box is well-kept, all information is written clearly and unambiguously. Inside the package you will find headphones, a microphone, one USB pendrive that makes from transmitter, a USB extension, a USB-C cable (for charging) and a 3.5mm AUX cable.

Technical features

Let’s move on with a rundown of technical features and then move on to the really important part of the review. Headphones are light but not very light, we are talking about 346 grams (including the microphone). Impedance of 32 Ohm and frequency response from 20 Hz a 20 kHz. The charging connector is a USB-C. The wireless compartment is type 2.4 GHz low-latency (we will see the implications later) and the battery ensures up to 30 hours of playback with a full charge. Hours are calculated at medium volume and with the LEDs off.

Creative SXFI THEATER Review | Materials, design and buttons

Let’s start with the first feedback I tried when I first made contact with the headset. The materials are plastic but give one still premium feeling. The upper headband is well padded and does not cause any discomfort to the upper part of the head. The padding of the pavilions are easily removable and are of a memory-foam material that is truly spatial: the Singapore company has managed to find the balance point between the pressure of the pavilions on the ears in order to guarantee a excellent insulation with the outside without pressing excessively. On the outside of the pavilion there is a circular led which can be illuminated in different colors. Also here in my opinion a point in favor: nothing overly colorful or flashy, they are not born as headphones exclusively for gaming, on the contrary!

Let’s move on to the physical buttons that are present on the Creative SXFI THEATER. The right pavilion is absolutely free of buttons, it is all concentrated on the left. The first button you encounter is that of on / off (just hold for two seconds to put them into operation). Then there is the jack input for the microphone and the two USB-C and 3.5mm jack inputs (the first for charging and the second if you want to connect the headset via cable). Next is the button for change the microphone (if connected) and the wheel to manage the volume. Finally, the key to activate or deactivate the SXFI.

Creative SXFI THEATER Review | First Use, Application and Considerations

An absolutely strong point of this pair of headphones is definitely theDedicated app. At the first installation it will be required to connect them with a mobile device (I used an iPad). The connection is obviously instantaneous and, after making the pairing, you will be prompted to take pictures to your ears and your face. It sounds absurd, but the technology in these headphones allows you to to map your ear and your face shape in order to optimize the sound of the headphones in a completely personalized way. Once the mapping has been carried out on the App it will be transferred in a manner automatic headphones as soon as they are paired with your account.

From the dedicated App it is obviously possible to customize the options listening, among a wide choice of preset and a no less vast possibility of totally custom customization (frequency by frequency). Before throwing ourselves into the parent chapter of every audio device review (which answers the question: “How does it feel?”), I would like to report some scattered considerations on the feedback and ideas I got during the test phase. First of all I point out the absolute convenience of the microphone which can be removed, however the quality of the microphone in my opinion is not quite in line with the (extremely high and satisfactory) quality of the headset. There quality of the microphone turns out slightly muffled and therefore not particularly comparable to the sound quality of headphones.

Two other important peculiarities that I have found are the gradual volume wheel and the large gap between the sound quality when you have the SXFI active and inactive. There volume wheel returns a great feedback, the increase and decrease in volume are faded for a result that is as gradual as it is pleasant e stunning. A small note also on the function SXFI, in my opinion the only one that can be used because the audio quality is really very high (we will talk about it at length in the next paragraph).

Creative SXFI THEATER Review | How does she feel?

Try the Creative SXFI THEATER in a few use cases it would have been an understatement. In fact, these headphones aim to cover practically every facet of the entertainment world from gaming to music through to watching movies. Customization fromApp allows you to equalize the headphones according to your taste as precisely as manic and the headset does not miss a beat, always returning excellent sensations.

I have watched several films, including with different qualities (to be able to appreciate the “virtualization” of the SXFI with not exactly recent films), and the result was really perfect. Music listening can be very personalized, but the result is always excellent. The biggest surprise though was when I used headphones in ambito gaming. In particular they have been linked to mine PS4 (they are also compatible with PC / Mac, Nintendo Switch and SXFI TV) and the result was brilliant. I must say that the cuffie wireless I don’t often get excited about gaming because latencies are (albeit minimal) present. The low-latency transmitter of these headphones is really great because the audio is practically without delay, the frequencies I’m very well equalized, i steps they feel strong and clear and there is one very marked directionality.

All these advantages are obviously to be attributed to SXFI, also because with this mode disabled the headphones have an infinitely lower yield in my opinion and not up to the price and quality of the headset itself.

Creative SXFI THEATER Review | Conclusions and prices

I found these headphones really convincing: come on materials all travel sonora. Even the App I must say that it helps a lot, a mature software able to really raise the quality of the product and the user experience. The price is high but in my opinion balanced with the quality of the device. In fact, you bring home a headset (let me say “professional”) able to give emotions not only in the gaming field but from practically every point of view.

the Creative SXFI THEATER they are excellent even when combined with the Creative SXFI CARRIER, which will soon be reviewed on TechGameWorld.com. There are some defects found, in my opinion the microphone really improved, the wireless connection rarely gave any problems but it did. All small precautions that, if resolved, in my opinion they would make this truly ideal headphone for all lovers of movies, music and games.
