Crimes of the Future: two brand new clips of the highly anticipated film by famous director David Cronenberg are coming
Yes, eight years have passed since a David Cronenberg film was released in theaters. But now, ban on induci: the wait is officially over! The new film, of which we present two brand new clips, is called Crimes of the Future.
The master of horror and thriller returns to the cinema with a new creature. And we can only tell you that the cast is exceptional: Viggo Mortensen, Kristen Stewart e Léa Seydoux.
We remind all fans that the theatrical release is scheduled for August 24th by the distribution of Lucky Red.
Il cast di Crimes of the Future
As we have already anticipated, names of great stars populate the cast of this amazing film. We find Viggo Mortensen, with whom Cronenberg has entered into a long partnership – in fact, after The Promise of the Assassin, A History of Violence and A Dangerous Method, once again David Cronenberg chooses Viggo Mortensen as the protagonist.
He is joined by two exceptional women: Léa Seydoux and Kristen Stewart.
Crimes of the future, which takes its title from his previous 1970 film without being the remake, marks the director’s return to the body horror genre, already shown in films such as Shivers, Rabid, The Brood and The Fly.
A shocking and extreme, visceral film, in which Cronenberg returns to explore the evolution of man and the planet in relation to technology. An out-of-the-box vision, an unsettling science fiction film that encompasses all the very topical themes of the Canadian author’s filmography.
But we don’t want to leave you on your toes too much. Below are the two brand new and highly anticipated clips of Crimes of the Future, presented at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
The synopsis of the film
In an unspecified future, the disastrous effects of pollution and climate change have changed the body of human beings, now capable of carrying out continuous mutations. Former surgeon Caprice (Léa Seydoux) harnesses the ability of her partner Saul Tenser (Viggo Mortensen) to develop new organs to create artistic performances of surgical removal, in which the couple publicly show the internal metamorphosis of man. These avant-garde shows attract the attention of Timlin (Kristen Stewart), investigator of the National Organ Registry, but also of a suspected subversive group whose aim is to take humanity to the next evolutionary stage.
So all that remains is to wait for August 24, the date on which, we remember, Crimes of the Future will be released in our local cinemas. For any other news, stay connected! Stay Tuned!
