DC Fandome 2021 follows the structure of last year’s online event, with lots of news for fans!
Last year DC Comics held a large global virtual event called DC Fandome 2020, which brought together the largest number of talent, announcements and content in DC history. This fan experience lasting 24 ore has expanded the number of followers around the world, generating over 22 million views in 220 countries and territories, with over 150 million trailer views. The experience was repeated last October 16, with a long live show full of news! From new movie trailers to video games, let’s find out what was presented at the DC Fandome 2021!
The Batman | DC Fandome 2021
The main dish of DC Fandome, without a doubt. After a first look dated now 2020 and the consequent shift of release date to March 4, 2022, DC has revealed a new trailer for The Batman. The film directed by Matt Reeves it shows itself in all its strength and its dark settings, giving us the opportunity to better observe its protagonists. In addition to the Batman’s Robert pattinson, we also see the Catwoman played by Zoe Kravitz, the Riddler and Penguin, respectively Paul Dano e Colin Farrell. Last but not least we are also shown the new Alfred di Andy Serkis and Inspector Gordon of Jeffrey Wright. The trailer portends a spectacular film: is it the right time for a comeback for Gotham’s Batman?
The Flash | DC Fandome 2021
Speaking of Batman … The first teaser of The Flash shows us for the first time, albeit in passing, the return of Michael Keaton in the role of the DC superhero, alongside the Flash’s Ezra Miller. Keaton had played the role at the turn of the 80s and 90s in Batman and Batman Returns, both directed by Tim Burton. The Flash is currently in production and will probably hit theaters no earlier than the end of next year, given the busy schedule at DC.
Black Adam & Shazam! Fury of the Gods | DC Fandome 2021
On the other hand, it is debuting in the DC universe Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, which he interprets Black Adam in the film of the same name. The latter will be released next year and a future connection with Shazam, closely connected with Black Adam in the comics, is not excluded. About Shazam, a first look at the sequel, Fury of the Gods, was released on the occasion of the DC Fandome. The latter is scheduled for 2023.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom & Peacemaker | DC Fandome 2021
Now let’s move on to one of the members of the Justice League: Aquaman! In The Lost Kingdom we will see again Jason Momoa (who we recently admired in Dune) playing Arthur Curry. The sequel to the successful first installment (which earned more than a billion dollars at the box office) will be released on December 16, 2022 in the United States.
Much earlier, however, we will be able to return to have fun with Peacemaker, the original HBO Max series starring the superhero of the same name (?). Directly from The Suicide Squad, John Cena returns as the cruel defender of justice, this time with a new team, but always headed by James Gunn. Peacemaker will debut next January 13.
