The Dead Space Remake, which recently arrived on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X | Yes, it was a great success among the public and critics. It will be that fans of the series did not receive good news (and video games) from that Dead Space 3 dated 2012, it will be that the first chapter of the franchise is objectively the one most appreciated by anyone for its darker horror and less action vein, but Electronic Arts and Motive Studio definitely seem to have hit the mark. Before starting
We will explain well how to unlock the alternative ending of Dead Space Remake in a special guide, here we want to help you find the location of all the Fragments of the Mark needed to do so. In total there are twelve (one for each chapter, excluding 9 and 12) and you’ll have to collect them all in New Game Plus, thus having finished the campaign at least once. It won’t be simple in reality: the developers have hidden them in the darkest recesses of the Ishimura. Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 | Dead Space Remake: The location of all Shards of the Mark
In Chapter 1 you can find the Shard of the Mark in the course of the objective “Find the data card“. And in reality it is precisely by following the road to the data sheet that you will find it: in fact, inside the room where the objective is present, you will notice a small point of purple light on a nearby shelf. Melee the shelf and you will get your first Shard of the Mark.
Moving on to Chapter 2, you can find the second fragment of the Mark inside Dr. Kyne’s office, once you have ended the quarantine in the Laboratory. Here, use the kinesis to move the shelves present and reveal a secret room, inside which you will find your Fragment of the Brand.
Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 | Dead Space Remake: The location of all Shards of the Mark
To find the Fragment of the Brand in Chapter 3 you will have to reach the Engine Room and, specifically, the electrical substation 03. Just behind this substation you will find the Fragment.
In Chapter 4, however, you will have to use the elevator to go from the Main Lobby to Floor 3. Enter the relaxation room and, on the right, on the floor you will find the Mark.
Chapter 5 | Dead Space Remake: The location of all Shards of the Mark
During chapter 5 you will be able to obtain two Shards of the Brand. To get the first one you will have to go there inside the office of Dr. Mercer, you will do it during the main story. You will find the Shard on the desk.
As for the second, however, you will have to continue towards the end of Chapter 5. Inside the Cryogenics room, look up above the Cryogenic Chamber where you find the Liquid Nitrogen (and where you freeze the Hunter, so to speak). Walk along the edge until you find the Mark, use the kinesis to get it.
Chapter 6, Chapter 7 and Chapter 8 | Dead Space Remake: The location of all Shards of the Mark
In chapter 6, during the mission “Inject the enzyme into Rattler 07“, once injected into the sixth gasper, look up at the room where the creature was present. You will find the Shard there, use the kinesis to get it.
As for Chapter 7, however, once obtained Authorization level 3, exit the room you are in and walk down the corridor past the elevator. There you will find a room that was locked until then, precisely because of the Security Level, which you can now open instead. Here you will find the Shard of the Mark, search the shelves.
You will find the Shard of the Mark in Chapter 8 during the mission “Activate the communication system“, when you have to solve the puzzle with zero gravity panels. The Mark is placed along the wall, at a point where the tentacles of the Necromorphs have proliferated and spilled out.
Chapter 10 and Chapter 11 | Dead Space Remake: The location of all Shards of the Mark
In Chapter 10 you will be able to grab two Shards of the Mark. You will find the first one in VIP crew quarters. To be precise, get to the corridor with the second tentacle and there you will find a door to activate with an energy core, redirecting the electric current. Use it in the insert nearby to open the door, you will find the Fragment of the Mark in a bed below.
The second Fragment of the Mark of Chapter 10 you will find it continuing with the story, during the mission “Destroy the Tentacle in the Steward’s Office“. To avoid spoilers, we just tell you that you will find it on a desk in the room where the tentacle is to be destroyed.
Finally, the Fragment of the Mark number 12, the last one, you will find it during Chapter 11. Enter the Hangar using the elevator and you will find yourself in the corner of the room. Head to the opposite one to find the last Mark Fragment.
