The American production company A24 has announced a collaboration with Kojima Productions for the creation of the live action Death Stranding film
The famous video game Death Stranding will become a live action film produced by A24. The American label has in fact announced on its social profiles a agreement with Kojima Productions for the making of the film, but without providing further details. In fact, on the manufacturer’s website you can read laconically:
It’s official: we’ve partnered with Kojima Productions on the live action film adaptation of Hideo Kojima’s acclaimed video game, Death Stranding
A24 also began producing and selling merchandising linked to the Death Stranding film, specifically a t-shirt with the company logo in DS style. Kojima for his part has not yet spoken about the project on social media.
Death Stranding: a video game destined to become live action
Upon closer inspection, this is an almost inevitable fate: the one proposed by the Death Stranding game is undoubtedly a highly cinematic experience, therefore translating it into a real film will probably not require particular efforts, provided of course that you create a quality adaptation that does justice to the original work. In this sense, a possible direct involvement of Hideo Kojima could certainly provide the necessary guarantees, but as mentioned the Japanese game director has not yet spoken about the project. For a few months now, however, he and the producer of Barbarian, Alex Lebovicihave announced the production of a film adaptation of the popular video game Hideo Kojima originally released on PlayStation 4 in November 2019 for which a sequel was announced. The hope is therefore that the transposition will be of equal quality.
