The starting point of any “restomod” is an iconic car that is no longer in production. The so-called “donor car”.

Redesigned and rebuilt with the integration of modern components. The end result is a car with cutting-edge solutions and high-quality finishes.

Although it maintains the recognizability and personality of the past. In the case of Eccentrica, the donor car belongs to the first series of the Diablo model.

At its debut in January 1990, the supercar created a sensation for both clean bold lines drawn and Marcello Gandini both for its high performance, so much so that it was the fastest production car at the time with a top speed of 325 km/h.

Authentic automotive work of art, the “restomod” based on the Diablo aims to revive, and in many ways to update, that completely analog, instinctive and extreme driving experience, through an innovative and important technological and design upgrade, increasing its impetuous character of the original and bringing the typical characteristics of the 90s mechanics to a higher level.

Who is Eccentrica

The restomod market is booming. And this is exactly where Eccentrica comes into play. The start-up based in San Marino combines the automotive passion.

An organized operational structure and the managerial skills of the founder. All combined with the expertise of internationally renowned suppliers and partners.

Il its name comes from the late Latin word “Eccentrus”. This indicates a location away from the center.

And it takes its inspiration from Ptolemy’s astronomy dedicated to motion and deferent orbits with respect to the centre.

In mechanics, the Eccentrics are elements that generate precisely this decentralized motion, away from the axis, i.e. real elements of transformation of the movement.

Hence the name of the brand and its products: in fact, an Eccentrica car is a transformation that has elements of courage and ruthlessness and, at the same time, pays homage to and is linked to the principles of classical mechanics.

The first Eccentric

The first Eccentrica dedicated to the Diablo is an authentic Few Off which will be produced in 19 specimens for which his value is destined to grow over timeor, precisely because the fans of this particular sector suspended between the charm of the past and the innovation of the present are on the rise.

The launch phase of the Eccentrica prototypeafter its debut in Milan, will continue under the spotlights of one of the most awaited automotive events of the year, the Goodwood Festival of Speedfrom 13 to 16 July in Gran Brittany. Ad Augustthen, the prototype is expected at Monterey Car Week with an exclusive event in partnership with important dealers in the sector.

The bodywork of the “donor car” has been totally revised, with the exception of the windscreen which remains original. All other parts (bumpers, bonnets, sides and skirts) have been replaced with new components, ensuring perfect integration and greater efficiency. All embellished with a series of captivating details, which will not go unnoticed by an expert eye and lover of Italian design.

The proportions of the original car have been exaggerated to accentuate its aggressive aesthetics and handling and stability qualities, as demonstrated by the widened track both in the front and rear areas. Length and height remain almost unchanged while the overhangs are shorter. The overall volume is conceived as a wedge set in a trapezoidal shape formed by the front.

The dimensions

The entire front end has been streamlined and clean. The large extractor takes its inspiration from Diablo GT while the wheel arches have been updated and integrated but retain the iconic Gandini arched structure. The miniskirt has also been redesigned by inserting an aerodynamic fin. The window was brought into continuity to integrate the B-pillar even better and create a single shape. However, the famous “butterfly” doors remain unchanged.

Standing out on the side are the new 19″ alloy wheels, both front and rear, whose design derives from the world of motorsport.

The rear area is characterized by a horizontal developmenttaken from the original, embellished with new finely crafted details, such as the very thin carbon bumper, the two large air intakes where the main radiators are located and the two iconic round headlights reinterpreted according to the latest innovations in the field of automotive lighting .

Among the most distinctive and eccentric elements of the new hypercar are the front headlights, nicknamed “Pop-Down headlights”, which are characterized by a retro-futuristic aesthetic and operation compatible with current homologation standards.

La stampa 3D

A special mention deserves the many titanium elements made using the technology 3D printing, which ensures maximum lightness, greater rigidity and absolute construction precision. Among these refined contents are the car’s grilles, which have a three-dimensional shape and a different composition of the meshes, in order to ensure optimal air flow. So what used to be just a decoration now becomes an integral part of the project, contributing at the same time to the functionality and aesthetics of the car.

The 3D printing technology allows you to include elements in a more integrated wayas demonstrated by the Eccentrica logo reproduced directly inside the grille and the number plate lights, which emerge from the grille when it is inserted into its housing.

The engine compartment is spectacular, perhaps the most aggressive and unconventional design content of Eccentrica, which aims to make the engineering beauty of the V12 visible to all. Currently the engine, still in the validation phase, is covered by two carbon covers on which it stands out

Wait times and how much it costs

For the car the wait and of 16-18 monthsincluding a testing phase under different conditions.

The price of the transformation starting from 1.200.000 euro, which will reflect the customer’s personality and tastes by taking him behind the wheel of his unique and unrepeatable icon. The price does not include the purchase of the “donor car” on the international market.
