DJI, the giant of civil drones and creative cameras, launches its first delivery drone on the global market today: DJI FlyCart 30 (FC30).
It is an innovative device that offers efficient and flexible transport solutions in different scenarios, thanks to its high load capacity, its long autonomy, its reliability and its intelligent functions.
“From agriculture to construction management and surveying, DJI’s industrial-grade drones have transformed industries by improving worker safety and business productivity,” he comments Christina Zhang, Senior Director of Corporate Strategy at DJI. “We are optimistic that FlyCart 30 will become a reliable solution for air delivery, solving complex ground and terminal transportation problems efficiently, economically and, above all, safely.”
The technical characteristics of DJI FlyCart 30
FC30 has a coaxial structure four acescon eight carbon fiber propellers. These allow it to reach a maximum speed of 20 m/s. It can carry up to 30 kg of payload for 16 km, using two batteries. In an emergency, it can switch to a single battery and increase the payload to 40 kg, but reduce the operating distance to 8 km. The DJI O3 transmission system guarantees a Stable connection between the drone and the remote controls up to 20 km of distance.
The drone is designed for withstand adverse weather conditions and rough terrain. In fact it is ccertified IP55, which makes it impervious to dust and water. Can operate at temperatures between -20° and 45°C and can fly with winds up to 12 m/s. Standard propellers are optimized for altitudes between 0 and 6,000 m and support a flight up to 3,000 m (with a payload of 30 kg). Self-heating batteries maintain optimal performance even at low temperatures.
Security guaranteed by intelligent systems
FC30 also has several operational safety systems. Before taking off, the drone evaluates the feasibility of flight routes based on environmental conditions. It also provides audiovisual instructions for the pre-flight check.
During the flight, detects and avoids obstacles in all directions, thanks to dual active Phased Array radar and binocular vision systems. It also receives ADS-B signals from nearby manned aircraft, and alerts operators to potential danger. In case of emergency, a integrated parachute opens and lands the drone safely, protecting people and property below.
DJI FlyCart 30 comes with several flexible configurations
FC30 it can be folded for ease of transportation on a standard-sized vehicle. Furthermore, the drone can operate in two modes: Cargo e Winch.
In the Cargo modethe payload is placed in a 70-liter compartment, equipped with weight and center of gravity sensors to improve balance and safety.
Instead, in the Winch mode, the payload is transported by a winch crane for delivery to areas without convenient landing sites. The winch system includes a 20m cable that can retract manually or automatically at 0.8m/s and can carry up to 40 kg in weight. In this mode, during flight, FC30 can intelligently adjust the flight attitudeautomatically reducing load oscillation.
Complete software
DJI FlyCart 30 is supported by two comprehensive software: DJI DeliveryHub e DJI Pilot 2. The first is a platform that systematizes air delivery, with operations planning, status monitoring, centralized team resource management, and data collection and analysis functions. It also supports live feed directly through the drone’s high-resolution FPV stabilized camera.
DJI Pilot 2 is an application that optimizes manual flight and displays real-time flight status, load status and more, to ensure safe and efficient operations. In extreme weather conditions or other anomalies, DJI Pilot 2 alerts operators to possible risks and supports the management of alternative landing sites.
