Plot and cast | Dogman: Luc Besson’s thriller has landed in cinemas
Dogman focuses on the story of Douglas Munrow, a young man from New York who, after an accident with his van, is stopped by the police, dressed in women’s clothes and in the company of numerous dogs. Taken to the station, the man will begin to indulge in his story, which we will relive through a series of flashbacks. We will be catapulted into different ages of his life, to discover all the singular events that led him up to that moment, from his love for dogs to his shady dealings with a gangster.
The protagonist of this new feature film will be Caleb Landry Jones, already seen in films such as No Country for Old Men (2007), The Social Network (2010) and X-Men: First Class (2011), just to name a few. At his side Jojo T. Gibbs, Christopher Denham e Marisa Berenson.
The director’s words
The release of the new film is for Besson the opportunity to take stock of his career. These are his words to the Hollywood Reporter:
It’s really difficult when you reach 60, because you don’t know if your creative energy has run out. A sportsman knows this: he has a stopwatch. But with an artist you never know. I never want to make one movie too many and have people say, ‘Oh, he was so good before.’ I’m trying to understand if I still have something to say and, for now, I would say yes. I can say I still have one or two things in store.
