The right personality | Dragon's Dogma 2: How to use tokens

During the creation of the main pawn you will have the possibility to choose which one personality entrust them. This characteristic will determine the items you can select for your partner, but above all it will influence their behavior. They are present in the game four different personalities and each being has its own particularities:

  • Gentile
    • Pawns with a kind personality put the safety of their companions and the Arisen first. In battle these characters will mainly focus on using healing skills and buffs, and in case of danger they will always try to save their allies. Gentle pawns are particularly suited to the support role and are therefore perfect for the wizard role.
  • Detached
    • Detached pawns have a strategic mind and remain calm even during the most complicated situations. These characters excel at defense and aim to overwhelm their enemies using well thought out strategies. Additionally, detached pawns are very careful not to carry too many useful items and will often throw them away on their own initiative. The warrior is certainly the best vocation to associate with this personality, given that in this way the PC will make the most of all his defensive abilities.
  • Spontaneous
    • Spontaneous tokens are really very curious and represent the perfect companion for those who don't want to miss anything during exploration. In fact, characters of this type will end up collecting a large number of objects on your behalf and may also inform you of the location of treasures and other points of interest. The spontaneous pawns are also very generous and will often give some consumables to the other characters traveling with you.
  • Shoot
    • Outspoken checkers represent a double-edged sword. These characters excel in combat and are very good at spotting threats from far away, but they are also impulsive. In fact, pawns of this type will always rush into battle with their heads down, making it difficult to avoid clashes. The outspoken characters lend themselves quite well to all classes, but in particular they excel in the role of archers or destroyers.

The personality of your main pawn is selectable during character creation, but fortunately it is also possible to change it later very easily and quickly. In fact, to do this you just need to go to the Vernworth Pawns Guild and talk to the merchant located next to the fault stone. For alone 2000 crystals this NPC will sell you items capable of replace your partner's personality with the one you prefer.

Just like your Arisen, the token will also have its own vocation (class). During character creation you can freely choose between the four basic classes but, once you reach a large enough settlement, you can easily choose another. Plus the tokens they can also use the destroyer and sorcerer vocations which you will unlock later in the game. Unfortunately, however, your companions they will not be able to take advantage of the more advanced classes reserved only for the Arisen.

In addition to class, tokens can also be assigned a specialization. Specializations are nothing more than Unique pawn abilities which allow them to perform certain actions. For example, is there a specialization that allows your companion to use healing items freely on allies, while another allows him to understand the elven language and to act as an interpreter for you. To assign these unique abilities to the pawns, however, you first need to do so find the right tome by completing some missions or exploring the game world.

The tokens can be dismissed by speaking to them or simply by replacing them with a new one and when you send them away you can give them a rating and a parting gift to be delivered to their master.

By interacting with the fault stone you can also set a mission for your pawn. The quests can be of various types, such as defeat certain enemies or camp in certain areas, and can only be completed by your pawn while he is in another player's world. Completing these missions will allow your pawn to improve even while you are not playing and accordingly it is important to incentivize other players to complete them. To do so is possible manually assign a reward taken directly from your inventory that other players will receive after reaching the set goal.
