ChatGPT and DS: integration into car infotainment

The artificial intelligence portal developed by the Open AI company – whose founders also include the Tesla magnate, Elon Musk – can also be used in cars thanks to the integration of the macchine DS.
The car manufacturer is the first to include theartificial intelligencewith the aim of revolutionizing the travel experience and bringing the role and convenience ofvoice assistant while you are driving.
ChatGPT will be available in models that support the new system DS Iris System and the car manufacturer defines it as a real high-tech revolution. Olivier François, director of DS Automobiles, he has declared:
“Our mission at DS is to provide our customers with a unique onboard experience. As pioneers in integrating ChatGPT into the automotive world, we are making fluid, intuitive and engaging generative AI accessible, turning every journey into a unique experience.”
How ChatGPT will work on DS cars
L’artificial intelligence will be integrated into the new DS Iris System and will then be available for models DS 3, DS 4, DS 7 e DS 9 in Europe. The aim is to expand the potential of the DS infotainment system.
How does ChatGPT work in the car?
Its function voice assistant is to meet all those requests for which, until now, it was necessary to rely on other devices such as smartphones or guides and maps. Not only, therefore, navigator function, but also assistant which recommends places to visit, places to eat and itineraries to best enjoy every part of the trip.

To access ChatGPT just say the words “Ok Iris” and press the appropriate button on the steering wheel. From there, the possibilities are nearly endless. You can ask anything about the journey and stops at theartificial intelligencewhich will provide advice, guides and directives without the need to consult other sources.
L’artificial intelligence of Open AI already promises to be more powerful than normal ones voice assistants although, as with the latter, it must be connected to an internet network to work.
When will AI be available in DS cars?
The project that introduces the integration ofartificial intelligence on auto DS it’s called “SoundHound AI powered by ChatGPT” and for the moment it is in a pilot phase to test its functioning and, above all, customer response.
It will be possible to activate ChatGPT on the systems of auto DStherefore, on the first 20,000 owners of the supported models who will apply via the website DS Automobiles Store and whose subscription will be eligible.
The time limit for requesting service activation is from 19 October 2023 to 29 February 2024: once activated, it will be possible to start discovering all the topics on which you can receive information from the new one voice assistant.
The pilot phase also involves filling out a survey to share the first experience.
DS Automobiles specifies that the service can be used without additional costs for a maximum of six months. It is therefore conceivable that, if the pilot phase were to give positive results, ChatGPT integration in the systems of auto DS it will then come to be for payment.
