Ducati launches a special numbered edition limited to 500 units called Ducati XDiavel Black. For its creation, Ducati engineers collaborated with Poltrona Frau to design and handcraft the highest quality leather saddles with special anagrams. The bike was presented to the public noin the seventh episode of the Ducati World Première web series.
According to Ducati, the XDiavel Nera project stems from the values shared by the two companies: passion for design, craftsmanship tradition, use of cutting-edge technologies and an aptitude for innovation. The result is a motorcycle that is unique in terms of character and aesthetics, which communicates Italian design, and which, as mentioned, will be produced in a limited edition of 500 copies.
Ducati XDiavel Nera, Made In Italy at the highest levels
The Black XDiavel is characterized, as the name suggests, by the use of a “Black on Black” livery in which portions of glossy black alternate with matt black ones. The bike is also enriched by some stylistic details that enhance its aesthetics, such as the brake calipers and rocker arm covers in Ducati Red and the wheels entirely machined, lightened and forged, painted in glossy black. In addition, owners who wish can get a jet-type helmet with matching colors to emphasize the sporty air that it emanates, following the same trend.
Undoubtedly, however, the most recognizable part will be the new special saddle made by Pelle Frau: a soft natural leather padded by hand, the result of years of Poltrona Frau research. It is available in five different colors (Siam Red, Steel Blue, Cement, India and Jungle) and is customized with a series of “X” engraved by a sophisticated laser processing, which recalls the name of the bike. The strong point of this bike will still be the customization, which will allow the customer to choose a favorite color for the saddle, but also the possibility of adding another more comfortable and wider saddle with backrest (also in Pelle Frau leather), available for traveling as a couple without sacrificing style.
Testastretta DVT 1262 confirmed
Ducati the XDiavel is the perfect result between the combination of two totally different worlds such as custom style and sportiness. For this reason, for the propulsion it continues to use the same engine of the sisters already in the range, namely the powerful Testastretta DVT 1262 which, combined with the final belt drive, guarantees smooth delivery at low revs and a complete curve up to high revs. engine is so important to the style of the bike that it has been given a special prominence by making it clearly visible in the center of the fairing. The engine delivers a maximum power of 160 HP at 9,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 127 Nm at 5,000 rpm, Euro 5 homologated.
Ducati has also focused on ease of riding and comfort. To achieve these goals, conscientious work was carried out on the bike frame, reducing the height of the saddle from the ground (755 mm) and in the forward position of the footpegs, offering both qualities even when driving at low speeds as in sporty driving . The combination of the tubular steel frame, front and rear suspension and frame geometry allow agility and control of the front axle, ensuring excellent handling.
The Black XDiavel has a 240mm wide tire mounted on a rim with an 8 ”groove at the rear, which makes the bike easily recognizable from any angle. The particular profile of the tire also allows a lean angle of 40 °, an unthinkable value for a motorcycle of this type. The braking system is powerful and adjustable and it is equipped, like the whole Ducati range, with ABS Cornering. At the front it mounts Brembo monobloc M50 calipers and two 320 mm discs, while at the rear we find a single 265 mm disc.
As for the electronics, it continues to use a Full LED lighting system with easily recognizable front DRL daytime running lights. On this Black XDiavel they could not miss the Bosch IMU inertial measurement platform and driving aids such as cruise control, traction control, driving mode selector and ABS cornering. The electronic equipment is completed with the two-level dashboard which includes a TFT color screen with animation, speakerphone and keyless system.
The customization of the XDiavel also includes ergonomics completely customizable thanks to the footrests adjustable in three positionsor by choosing the Ducati Performance accessories most suited to the customer’s needs, including handlebars of different shapes and rear sets of footpegs compared to those of the XDiavel series or others located in a central position.
The Black XDiavel can now be reserved at dealerships, although the first units will not be delivered before March. In addition, the 500 Ducati fans who order the Black XDiavel will also receive an exclusive key ring and a document holder made of Pelle Frau leather in the same color as the saddle.
