Incredible new announcement from DuckDuckGo, which is working on a new desktop browser, which may soon be available for Mac. For now, a browser option is available for mobile devices, and it would appear that the desktop version will offer a fairly similar experience. This is one of the many announcements released by DuckDuckGo, which also revealed that it has achieved a notable increase in the number of its users thanks to the improvements it has released to its products. But let’s find out more about the browser.
DuckDuckGo: a desktop browser is coming
A new DuckDuckGo desktop browser is coming soon, featuring a “robust privacy protection” that works by default. Users, therefore, will not need to adjust their privacy settings or manage different levels of protection. Indeed, as announced, the App “will redefine users’ expectations of daily online privacy, according to DuckDuckGo” and will work with search, navigation, e-mail and more. More specifically, the new desktop browser has been defined as cleaner, more private, and faster than Chrome.
As it turns out, the new browser will work just like the DuckDuckGo mobile apps and won’t use a Chromium fork like other browser offerings. For the moment, however, this new project is in closed beta testing for Mac, although it is likely that it will be tested on other PCs in the future. However, there is no definite news on when it will really be released, even if the beta testers are putting pressure on it.
