Denis Villeneuve says Lady Jessica’s story will undergo a change in new film, Dune-Part 2. Played by Rebecca Ferguson; she will see her as the protagonist of a more active and surprising plot than in Frank Herbert’s novel
The anticipation for the big screen debut is growing more and more Dune-Parte2 directed by the well-known director Denis Villeneuve. To deceive the passing of time, Villeneuve only a few days ago anticipated some gems on the content and the changes during the production; including the story Lady Jessica.
In fact, as can be deduced from the recent depopulated declarations; in the starring film Timothée Chalamet (as Paul Atreides) e Zendaya (engaged as Chani); Lady Jessica (played by actress Rebecca Ferguson) will be engaged in a much more active and surprising story than Frank Herbert’s original novel. Let’s find out how together.
Dune-Part 2: Denis Villeneuve’s statements on the role of Lady Jessica
Defined by the director himself as too marginal and not very thorough, he voluntarily wanted to build much more space and plot around the well-known figure. Here are the following of the statements:
Lady Jessica sort of disappears in the second half of the book, so in writing the script I made sure to do just the opposite, making sure that her role was much more active, that she was paramount to the story. I can’t wait for the world to see what Rebecca has accomplished. She wasn’t afraid to go the extra mile, she is a true force I could count on
Dune-Part 2 is based on the science fiction novel by Frank Herbert; and features leading actors in addition to the already well-known names of Rebecca Ferguson; Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya; even the faces of Josh Brolin, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh and Dave Bautista; joined by Christopher WalkenStephen McKinley Henderson, Léa Seydoux, Stellan Skarsgård, Charlotte Rampling e Javier Bardem. In program in the halls the next November 3, 2023.
