During the Square Enix conference that is airing in this E3 2021, the company has unveiled some interesting news for Hitman Sniper: The Shadows, scheduled for mobile devices
Hitman 3 marked the end of the World of Assassination and the official divorce between Square Enix and IO Interactive. A divorce that, however, was both consensual and peaceful, considering that the two companies continue to collaborate to bring Hitman-branded titles to the gaming world. During the last Square Enix Presents, the company presented Project Hitman Sniper Assassins, a title dedicated exclusively to mobile devices in which, completely detaching ourselves from the main trend and from what was the third chapter dedicated to Agent 47, we will impersonate Agent 426. And now, from the E3 stage, there are some interesting news about it.
First, the title has been renamed to Hitman Sniper: The Shadows, it will be completely free-to-play and developed by Square Enix Montreal, the same ones behind Hitman Go. The game will take shape in a completely new universe. disconnected from the main Hitman series and from Hitman Sniper. Agent 47 is missing and we will follow the deeds of a group of assassins – Soji, Kiya, Kolzak, Knight and Stone – activated by the International Contract Agency (ICA) following the birth of a new criminal network.
