While we are talking about strikes by actors and screenwriters, even the torrid July is coming to an end and we are approaching an August which we hope will be at least a little more clement in terms of temperatures. We know for sure that it will not be under that of the Home Video releases, as Eagle Pictures announced big arrivals in August 2023. One of all: Guardians of the Galaxy – Vol 3. Resident Evil – The Island of Death | Eagle Pictures: the Home Video releases of August 2023!
From August 3, the awaited animated horror “Resident Evil – L’isola della Morte” by Eiichirô Hasumi, inspired by one of the most popular video game sagas ever created in 1996 by Capcom, arrives on Home Video. Fans of the franchise will find some of the most famous protagonists on the big screen in a spectacular computer graphics animation: a real reunion of characters from the various chapters; in addition to Chris and Leon, there will also be Jill, Claire and Rebecca. In this chapter, set in San Francisco, the entire cast must join forces to face a new threat on the island of death: Jill Valentine is grappling with a zombie epidemic and a new T-virus; Leon Kennedy is on the trail of a kidnapped DARPA scientist and Claire Redfield investigates a monstrous fish that is killing whales in the bay. Together with Chris Redfield and Rebecca Chambers, they discover that the clues from their different cases all converge in the same place, the island of Alcatraz, where a new enemy has taken up residence and awaits their arrival.
Guardians of the Galaxy – Vol 3 | Eagle Pictures: the Home Video releases of August 2023!
From August 23, the exclusive Home Video editions of “Guardians of the Galaxy – Vol. 3”, the third and final chapter of the saga directed by James Gunn, published in DVD, Blu-ray, 4K Ultra HD formats and a collectible Steelbook always in 4K. In all editions, an exclusive lenticular card comes inside, while the Blu-ray and 4K versions will also be enriched by many special contents, including deleted scenes, making of, mistakes on set and the director’s audio commentary. Furthermore, also from August 23, all three films in the saga will be available in a single boxed edition in DVD and Blu-ray formats. The final film in the trilogy stars the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most beloved outsiders: Peter Quill/Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), Groot (Vin Diesel) and Nebula (Karen Gillan) unite for one last adventure into outer space for an epic finale filled with heart, humor and action. After acquiring Knowhere station from the Collector, the Guardians of the Galaxy find themselves intent on repairing the enormous damage caused by Thanos and transforming Knowhere into a safe haven for all the displaced refugees of the universe. But their lives are turned upside down by the echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past: Peter Quill must reunite his team in a dangerous mission that could lead to the end of the Guardians themselves.
Hotel Transylvania 4 – A Monstrous Exchange | Eagle Pictures: the Home Video releases of August 2023!
Also available on DVD and Blu-ray from 23 August is the return of the animation “Hotel Transylvania 4 – A Monstrous Exchange”, the fourth and final chapter of the saga on the bizarre coexistence between monsters and humans starring Dracula. An animation with ten-year success that has enclosed famous monsters of world folklore, guaranteeing fun for the whole family. In this new adventure Drac and the gang return more monstrous than ever and, when the mysterious invention of Van Helsing, the “Monster Ray” goes haywire, Drac and his monster friends turn into humans while Johnny becomes a monster. In their new bodies, Drac, stripped of his powers, and a feisty Johnny, who loves life like a monster, must team up to find a cure before it’s too late. With the help of Mavis and Drac’s hilarious pack of humans, the gang scrambles to find a way back to normal before the various transformations become permanent. The complete “Hotel Transylvania” saga, containing all four films, will be available in a special DVD box also from August 23rd.
The Three Musketeers – D’Artagnan | Eagle Pictures: the Home Video releases of August 2023!
From August 30 comes the compelling “The Three Musketeers – D’Artagnan”, the film adaptation of the famous novel by Dumas, available in DVD, Blu-ray, 4K Ultra HD formats and an exclusive collector’s edition Steelbook, always in 4K. An epic film full of action, irony and passion with a stellar cast in which Eva Green, Vincent Cassel and Louis Garrel stand out. D’Artagnan, a lively young Gascon, is left for dead after trying to save a girl from a kidnapping. When he arrives in Paris, he tries in every way to track down the attackers but he doesn’t know that the search will lead him into the heart of a real war that puts the future of France at stake. Allying himself with Athos, Porthos and Aramis, the King’s three Musketeers, D’Artagnan will face the machinations of Cardinal Richelieu but, falling in love with Constance, the confidante of the Queen, he will put himself in serious danger earning the enmity of the one who will become his worst enemy: Milady.
