Beta testing of Elden Ring kicks off this week, the highly anticipated videogame coming out in February. Test invitations are sold out but test codes are on sale at exorbitant prices.
Sold Out Invitations: The Elden Ring beta can only be accessed via trial codes
There is great hype around Elden Ring, videogame developed by From Software, in view of the expected February release. Beta testing will begin this week, in which invited users will have the opportunity to try the game in advance. However, the invitations are already sold out, and there is only one way to play, which is not cheap at all.
Indeed videogameschronicle.com reports that, shortly before the start of the beta – scheduled for tomorrow 12 November – numerous users have put their invitations up for sale. It is about trial codes sold online at big bucks, that come to exceed € 350. On the US eBay portal, 9 users managed to sell the precious tickets for $ 200 each: more than the price of the Elden Ring Collector’s Edition.
A little like the secondary ticketing of concerts, the purchase of test codes from individuals is the only way to take part in the beta. According to what reported by videogameschronicle.com there would be not a few users willing to spend these figures.
In the meantime, between buyers and sellers, the test will begin tomorrow – November 12 – and will last for three days. Owners of the valuable trial codes will be able to play only during specific three-hour sessions. Here are the schedules set by the developers:
- November 12, from 3 a.m. PT (12 noon in Italy) and from 7 p.m. PT (in Italy 4 a.m. November 13)
- November 13 from 11am PT (8pm in Italy)
- November 14 from 3:00 a.m. PT (12 noon in Italy) and from 7:00 p.m. PT / 4:00 a.m. GMT (in Italy 4:00 a.m. Nov. 15)
Regarding the opening of the beta testing phase, Bandai Namco, publisher of the title, has released the following statement:
“Selected fans will be able to rehearse the title during set times. Players will get a first look at what the full game will have to offer, while assisting the development team in testing the servers online before the official release. ”
Meanwhile, just last week, From Software and Bandai Namco released a full 19-minute gameplay video. A movie that best reproduces the atmospheres that permeate Elden Ring.
For the lucky ones in possession of the Elden Ring test codes, the appointment is for tomorrow. For everyone else the official release date is set for February 25, 2022.
