The new electric Lotus Emeya has finished its development tests which lasted three years and will begin producing the new Lotus Emeya series
The British car company Lotus Emeya has finished its development tests of the new one Electric Lotus Emeyawhich takes the name of Hyper-GT. This testing period lasted for three years, but the process has finally come to an end and, by the end of the year, they will start sending the first models to customers in Europe. The British car manufacturer let us know that the latest development tests of the new electric Hyper-GT took place in Finlandprecisely the Ivalo. He also highlighted how important these were winter tests to test their mechanical functionality. These tests were carried out in the midst of extreme temperatures, in fact we are talking about temperatures that go up to minus 25 degrees.
The development tests of the electric Lotus Emeya
The tests of the new electric Hyper-GT were carried out overall well 15 countries. The British car manufacturer also carried out such development tests in Mongolia. Obviously there was no shortage of testing on the track too. In fact, the car company also brought the model to Nürburgring and even in the plant Nardò, in Italy. During the last phase of winter testing, the mechanical engineers focused above all on the efficiency of the suspension, steering, brakes, traction and stability controls, tires and driver assistance functions. It must also be said that carrying out these tests at extreme temperatures was very effective because it put the test to the test battery resistance and the passenger compartment air conditioning system.
We remind you that the new electric Lotus Emeyea is capable of having a powertrain with double electric motor able to deliver overall 675 kW (918 CV) and 985 Nm di coppia. Lotus declared a maximum speed of 256 km/h and an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.78 seconds. All this is powered by the battery which has a capacity of 102 kWh. The autonomy of the car instead should be around 600 km according to the WLTP cycle. If we connect the car to one HPC column with 350 kWit will be possible to recover well 150 km of autonomy in 5 minutes and go from 10 to 80% of the charge in 18 minutes. The prices for us Italians are still not clear, but according to a report it should arrive by 2027.
