Electric Renault Twingo: here is the “new” look inspired by the past

On the occasion of the Capital Market Day dedicated to Ampere, Renault CEO Luca de Meo revealed the return of the Renault Twingo: electric and inspired by the past, here are all the new features of the compact city car that is already history.

Renault Twingo electric: the nostalgia operation

Renault continues its nostalgia operation. After having revived the Renault 5, completely electric and available in 2024, and the Renault 4, with the same fate, another iconic model from the French company now returns, back in vogue among the public also thanks to the unfortunate mention in Shakira’s hit against the ex-husband.

What will the new Twingo be like?

For now there is little information. There Renault Twingo electric presented at the Capital Market Day dedicated to Ampere is only a prototype and, although it has been assured that the model will not undergo changes in its appearance, the technical specifications of the motor and battery are not known.

Renault meanwhile confirms that this car will also have reduced consumption and promises a 75% reduction in CO2 emissions over the life cycle of the car. Furthermore, it will count on massive use of recycled and recyclable materials – around 50% less materials than an electric SUV.

From the presentation it emerges that the interiors will be absolutely modern, combining past and future. Shapes and lines of Original Twingo alongside LED lights and the brand new Ampere A platform, dedicated exclusively to electric vehicles.

Still no information onautonomyeven if the prototype of the electric Twingo presented promises a average consumption of 10 kWh every 100 km.

The concept presented as a prototype suggests that it is a series version, even if the new one is to be built Electric Renault Twingo we will have to wait until 2025.

The price of the electric Renault Twingo

In the absence of technical specifications, at the moment the most noteworthy strong point of the new one Electric Renault Twingo and the prezzowhich aims to enter the market with a straight leg as a European response to competitive prices of Chinese houses.

For example, if the current generation is around 24,000 euros, Renault announced that the Electric Twingo it will cost less than 20.000 euro.
