Epic Games and the LEGO Group will create a metaverse for children

Billed as a “family-friendly digital experience”, the new metaverse from Epic Games and LEGO is currently in the works.

A metaverse for families: the project by Epic Games and the LEGO Group

Epic Games and the LEGO Group have announced a new partnership aimed at building “a metaverse where children can play safely”. The news comes directly from Epic’s blog, which talks about a long-term collaboration that will see the two brands “join forces to create a digital experience that is engaging and creatively stimulating for children of all ages”. The blog also talks about a “digital place suitable for families” which plans to offer children access to tools to stimulate their creative side.

In the post, the two brands also clarified three fundamental principles underlying the project. These are:

  • Security of the digital space
  • Privacy
  • Tools for families, to ensure control over the digital experience

It is currently not specified how this new metaverse will work, and there is no reference to NFT or blockchain in the post. We just have to wait then, to find out more about the result of the partnership between these two entertainment giants.
