eSport: WRC 9 finals will be held this summer in Ypres and Athens

WRC 9 and WRC 10 esports finals will be held this summer

NACON and the study KT Racing announce that the finals of the 2020 and 2021 editions of eSports WRC will take place this summer in Belgium and Greece respectively. The event will be presented by presented by TOYOTA GAZOO Racing. The best players in the world will face off in WRC 9, the official game of the FIA ​​World Rally Championship, for the 2020 final. The 2020 final will be held in Ypres, Belgium

After the postponement of the 2020 edition due to the pandemic, the final of the eSport WRC championship will take place on August 14, 2021 in Ypres, Belgium. It is no coincidence that this happens to coincide with the Renties Ypres Rally Belgium. 10 finalists will compete for the title of World Champion eSports WRC 2020. Among them are the 8 finalists who qualified from over 10,000 participants during the regular season.

    The event is promoted by TOYOTA GAZOO Racing, which awards the winner with a Yaris GR. The final also sees the collaborations of Playseat, Fanatec, BenQ and FlexIT. These will offer prizes to competitors and provide the necessary equipment for the competition.

    2021 Athens eSport WRC Final

    The final of the 2021 edition will instead take place around Athens Olympic Velodrome on 8 September 2021. The event will see the participation of the 8 finalists who qualified during the regular season, which is still ongoing. The ranking is therefore constantly updated. At the moment this is, once again, dominated by Sami Joe, who has achieved 10 consecutive victories. A ninth driver will join the others in the final after the regular season closes on 9 August, based on the results of a tournament organized by Acropolis Rally Greece for Greek and Cypriot players, sponsored by Kotsovolos and COSMOTE TV.

    Partners Playseat, Fanatec, BenQ and FlexIT will again be present for the new edition, as will TOYOTA GAZOO Racing, which will award the winner with a Yaris GR. This high-performance car is the fruit of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing’s experience as a WRC manufacturer and is equipped with a new GR-FOUR intelligent all-wheel drive system and an exciting 1.6L 3-cylinder turbo engine that delivers 261 hp and 360 Nm of torque for a light, powerful and exhilarating ride.
