With the latest update, WhatsApp has introduced some interesting innovations – some quite eye-catching, such as the green icons – including a new feature Events.
The latter is particularly useful for Community administrators and group chats.
How do Events work on WhatsApp?
The Events feature allows users to create and share events directly in group chats or communities. The organizer can easily select the location and time, and share these details with participants. The latter can confirm their participation, just as happens with Events on Facebook.
Not only that: participants can also suggest changes. This process greatly simplifies the organization of meetings and gatherings, avoiding the long discussions that often arise in chat groups.
Each event created will be visible in the group information section or the Community, making it easily accessible to all members. Furthermore, a notification will remind participants that the event is approachingensuring that no one forgets.
WhatsApp is increasingly becoming a social network
Originally born as an instant messaging platform, in recent years WhatsApp has gradually taken on the face of a real social networkperfectly integrated into the Meta ecosystem (which also includes Facebook and Instagram).
In fact, the platform has already introduced for years the state (which is nothing more than an Instagram Story on WhatsApp), while more recently the Community. The introduction of the Events functionality is a further step forward in this sense, with the aim of making WhatsApp an increasingly complete communication tool.
