Ewiva and Mercatò, recharge your electric car while you go shopping
Ewiva is the joint venture of Enel X Way e Volkswagen Group. And she decided to collaborate with Market, owned by Dimar SpA, an important company in the large-scale retail sector. The goal of this collaboration is to make electric vehicle charging more accessible and convenient for all drivers.
The idea is to install ultra-fast charging infrastructure in parking lots supermarkets, superstores and hypermarkets of the Mercatò network. In this way, drivers will have the possibility to recharge their cars while doing the shopping, transforming a daily activity into an opportunity for sustainable mobility.
This partnership, launched in May 2022, involves the activation of 8 Ewiva high-power charging stations in Dimar Group sales points located in Piedmont and Liguria. These stations will offer overall 34 charging points for electric vehicles. But the number of charging stations will grow further, with the aim of offering the high-power electric charging service in more sales points.
The stations already active
At the moment, there are three active charging stations. One at Mercatò Extra in Alessandria in June 2023, followed by Rivoli marketin the province of Turin, in July 2023 and then that of Alba (CN), coinciding with the inauguration of the new superstore Mercatò Extra in the San Cassiano district.
Ewiva charging stations in supermarket car parks they have on average 2 or 3 columnsdepending on the available space, each with a power 150 kW or 300 kW. This will allow fast and convenient charging of electric vehicles.
