Meta has stated that the Facebook Messenger app will no longer be available for Apple Watch. You will be able to use it until the end of this month, after which it will be discontinued.
Apple Watch will no longer support Facebook Messenger
Facebook Messenger, starting later this month, will no longer be supported by Apple Watch. This means that users will no longer be able to reply to messages received on the app directly from their Apple Watch. despite this, the news can still be read.
Why was this decision made? Meta did not provide any explanation. The Messenger app for Apple Watch was introduced in 2015 and thanks to it it was possible to send voice messages, likes, stickers and other replies without necessarily opening the smartphone.
It is assumed, however, that the motivation could lie in the fact that Messenger is not very smartwatch. On this device, Apple is investing heavily in apps related to fitness and health. Another reason could be the following: allowing you to reply to messages directly from the Apple Watch reduced the amount of time spent on the smartphone screen with the Messenger app open.
