The fast charging it is certainly the method of recharging the batteries of their mobile devices preferred by users: it therefore seems that the standard recharge, the one that we typically let it take place during the night, is now falling into disuse, on the other hand its fast variant seems be better across the board.
Will fast charging become the new standard?
Phones that support charging over 100 Watt are the second most popular category, slightly beating devices from 50-67 W, who came in third place. Charging is definitely a hassle and we can understand why people prefer to get out of the way as quickly as possible to get back to using their device freely.
Doesn’t it damage the battery, though? Not so much, say the manufacturers, who have stated that the battery will retain 80% of its original capacity after several hundred charge cycles – some promise to meet the industry standard of 800 cycles, others even promise to exceed it twice and go up to 1,600 cycles. We remind you that 800 cycles are over 2 years of daily recharge from 0 to 100%.
It is also worth noting that many of the phones that boast super fast charging capabilities are framed as gaming phones. After two years one GPU mobile will become significantly less performing than the new models. So even if the battery will be as fresh as the day it left the factory, the device will still fail to deliver the same performance.
