Ferrari has expressed its support for the plans of theEuropean Union to allow the sale of cars with internal combustion engine (ICE) that use fuel e-fuel beyond 2035. CEO Benedetto Vigna thinks the decision brings “more freedom” for engine development.

Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna expressed his appreciation for the agreement reached by the European Union and Germany for exempt cars that use e-fuel from the planned phase-out of new combustion engine vehicles by 2035.
“The good news for us as a company (…) is that in addition to electric cars, we will also be able to move forward with our internal combustion engines,” Chief Executive Benedetto Vigna told a Reuters event.
According to Vigna, the decision is interesting as it allows ICEs to go beyond 2036, which is good news for the company.
