Ford has unveiled the new all-electric Explorer, a mid-size SUV that promises high performance, digital comfort and respect for the environment. Combining American style and German engineering, the Blue Oval launches a truly unique model.
Ford announces the new all-electric Explorer
Designed and built in Germany, the new Explorer is the progenitor of the range of 100% electric vehicles that Ford intends to launch in Europe in the coming yearsthe. In fact, over one billion euros have been invested in the Ford plant in Cologne to create one of the most modern and sustainable factories on the continent.

The new 100% electric Explorer stands out for its its bold and futuristic lines, which recall the adventurous spirit typical of Ford models. The passenger compartment of the new 100% electric Explorer can accommodate up to five people, with sculpted sports seats trimmed in faux leather.
Technology and comfort
The SYNC Move, a fully connected infotainment system, integrates a screen Height-adjustable 15-inch touchscreen. The system allows you to manage the car functions, satellite navigation, music streaming and wireless apps via voice or gesture commands.
To be comfortable, find the 17-litre MegaConsole between the front seats which can accommodate a 15-inch laptop or other personal items. My Private Locker under the dashboard that allows you to hide personal effects. Then there are the‘apertura Hands-Free of the trunk which is activated by passing the foot under the rear bumper: the trunk is also 450 litres. Then there is the Next-Generation Soundbar integrated into the dashboard which guarantees superior audio quality thanks to eight loudspeakers.
Drive smart
From Assisted Lane Change, to change lanes smoothly, to Clear Exit Assist, which signals the presence of cyclists in the city, driving becomes intelligent with the new Ford SUV. With the Keyless system, you can enter your car without a key. Furthermore, as standard, you will find the wireless compatibility of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The battery recharges from 10 to 80% in just 25 minutes, allowing for quick pit stops along the 500,000 charging points across Europe that will arrive within the next year. Martin Sander, general manager of Ford Model and Europe, explains: “Explorer is the pioneer of a new generation of Ford electric vehicles. Strengthened by our American origins, built in Cologne for Europe, it is ready for great adventures and equipped with everything our customers need in their daily commute“.
