Free Guy – action comedy by Disney 20th Century Fox – will be available, at no additional cost, from 29 September on Disney +, in the Star section. In the cast, Ryan Reynolds and Taika Waititi
With the arrival of the autumn film season, Disney changes the release strategy of its films, abandoning the “hybrid” system which included the release in the hall and on the Disney + platform – with VIP access – at the same time.
The first film to usher in this trend was the action comedy co-produced by 20th Century Fox Free Guy – Hero for play which – after a surprising success at the box office – will be released in streaming by 29 September, in the Star section.
Free Guy – Hero per game: plot and trailer
The film – released in cinemas on 11 August – revolves around the story of a meek bank employee whose entire life will be turned upside down by an awareness and a small act of courage, as evidenced by the official synopsis:
Free Guy tells the story of a bank employee who one day tries to rebel against a system that wants him to be submissive and a victim of daily violence. He decides not to stand by while some robbers calmly rob the bank, as they usually do. This time, however, Guy decides to rebel and try to face the two thugs.
This is how, thanks to a very special pair of glasses, he discovers that he is a character in an open world videogame called Free City, in which he is the “good guy” fighting with the bad guys in a violent world. In addition to carrying out the tough task of hero, Guy embarks on a crusade against the creators of the game, who intend to close the shack and shut down the video game for good.
In the cast we find Ryan Reynolds, Taika Waititi, Jodie Comer (also starring in Ridley Scott’s latest film – The last duel -, out October 14) e Joe Keery. The direction is instead entrusted to Shawn Levy, best known for the Night at the Museum trilogy.
The vision of Free Guy – Hero for play does not provide no additional cost in addition to the Disney + subscription. So we just have to enjoy the film from the comfort of our sofa at home.
