Freud (Freud’s Last Session) by Matthew Brown will be at cinema in the United States since December 22nd. On the occasion of the now imminent release, Sony Pictures Classic has therefore released the official trailer of the project, whose protagonists are the father of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud, and the author of The Chronicles of Narnia, CS Lewis, played respectively by Anthony Hopkins and Matthew Goode.

Based on the play of the same name by Mark St. Germain, which in turn was inspired by the essay The Question of God by Armand NicholiFreud tells of a imaginary meeting between Sigmund Freud and CS Lewis. On the eve of the Second World War, precisely two days after Hitler’s invasion of Poland and during the bombing of England, Sigmund Freud, who fled from Vienna to London, receives a visit from CL Lewis, determined to discuss with the psychoanalyst of the existence of God. Before becoming the famous author of The Chronicles of Narnia, Lewis was in fact a theologian and an essayist, always ready to question his own work. The film will also tell about Freud’s relationship with his daughter Anna and the unconventional relationship between Lewis and the mother of his best friend.
We find ourselves in Anna’s shoes Liv Lisa Fries known for her participation in the cult series Babylon Berlin. They then complete the cast Jodi Balfour, Stephen Campbell Moore, Jeremy Northam ed Orla Brady. The filming of Freud concluded a few months ago and took place between London and Dublin. All that remains is to wait for updates on the Italian release date as well as the dubbed trailer.
