On film …
It’s about a romantic comedy entrusted for the first time to an almost entirely female cast. On stage we find four women who really make you smile and sometimes even laugh. But besides the comedy there is the sentimental side, which manages to be staged thanks to the sincerity of the performers.
With this film Enrico Vanzina offers an overview of sophisticated female portraits in which the spirit of the times is condensed. The director and screenwriter builds a tender choral fresco set between Rome and the Circeo, where, with the right amount of incorrectness, tells the evolution of our society, between petty-bourgeois neuroses, sentimental anxieties, misadventures and misunderstandings.
