GFX Challenge Grant Program 2023 is about to return: creatives, photographers and videomakers will be able to submit the guidelines and premises of their photographic or video project to FUJIFILM
The third edition of the GFX Challenge Grant Program is underway, a growth opportunity that FUJIFILM reserves for emerging and promising content creators. Until October 15, 2023, content creators will be able to submit their own photographic or video project to FUJIFILM. The projects deemed best will be implemented thanks to a substantial financial contribution. The GFX Challenge Grant Program includes 5 Global Grant Awards of 10,000 dollars and 10 Regional Grant Awards of 5,000 dollars.

All recipients of the Global and those of the Regional Grant Award They will also gain experience using GFX System equipment, receiving a GFX System body and two GF lenses for the duration of the project’s productionas well as technical assistance from Fujifilm product expert technicians.
The proposed projects can be presented as photographs or films. The program includes a series of selection moments, the final choice will be entrusted to a jury of great international experts involving Masako Sato – curator and founder of Contact. Co., Ltd. –, Paolina Vermare – curator, historian and writer –, Lesley A. Martin – publisher of Large of Aperture – Amanda Maddox Chief Editor of World Press Photo – , Lucille Reyboz and Yusuke Nakanishi – Founders of Kyotographie.

Here you can find all the steps that make up the third edition of the GFX Challenge Grant Program.
1st STEP until 15 October 2023
Preparation of the project proposal and submission by filling out the Fujifilm registration form in the link on the official page.
The presentation must include English and saved in PDF file format.
2nd STEP from 16 October 2023 to 3 November 2023
Fujifilm will review the applications and select 15 project proposals from 3 geographical regions, 45 proposals in total, which will be evaluated in the 3rd step. By November 8, 2023, each selected regional finalist will be notified via email and necessary Zoom (or equivalent) interviews will be scheduled.
3rd STEP from 9 to 23 November 2023
Applicants will be asked to attend an interview with Fujifilm. The interview can be conducted in the language of your choice, if possible for Fujifilm. The Five finalists for each geographical region, 15 in total, will be selected to proceed to the final selection phase.
4th STEP from 24 November to 8 December 2023
The Global Grant Award Jury will review each nominee and select the 5 global award recipients, while the remaining 10 finalists will receive regional grant awards. Award winners will be announced in January 2024.
At the end of the production period in June 2024, the winners’ final content will be displayed on the fujifil website and in the exhibition to be held at FUJIFILM SQUARE, a gallery within FUJIFILM headquarters in Roppongi, Tokyo. Only candidates who advance in the selection process will be informed of their progress. At the end of the final phase, an announcement of the final beneficiaries of the grants will be published.
FUJIFILM con the GFX Challenge Grant Program, in addition to making creative ideas of aspiring photographers and videomakers concrete, contributes to enriching the imaging community with artistic projects which otherwise would not be possible to achieve.
