FUJIFILM Released Firmware Update For FUJIFILM X-H2S Camera That Will Enable Higher Performance
FUJIFILM has released the X-H2S Ver.3.00 firmware update based on artificial intelligence and enhanced algorithm, the higher AF performance of the X Series has been further improved. The firmware update is optimal for fast moving objects such as sports and bird photography.
The X-H2S is the flagship model of the X Series, equipped with the 26.16 MP stacked back-illuminated X-TransTM CMOS 5 HS sensor, capable of fast signal reading and the X-Processor high-speed image processor 5. Since its market launch in July, the AF performance of the X-H2S has been well received by users. AF performance will be further improved with this firmware update.
FUJIFILM X-H2S: Firmware update detail
1. Improved AI-based subject detection function
Subject detection performance has been greatly improved in situations that were previously difficult to detect, such as backlighting, side-looking subjects, and small subjects. Subject tracking can now be used in more situations than ever before.
New subject types added
In addition to the current subject types of human faces and eyes, animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, airplanes and trains, it is now capable of recognizing insects and drones. Set “SUBJECT DETECTION SETTING” to “BIRD” when you want to detect insects and to “AIRPLANE” when you want to detect drones.
2. Improved AF algorithm for tracking moving subjects
The improved motion prediction algorithm enables stable tracking of subjects moving at high speed within the frame. It will provide even more comfortable shooting in genres that require high subject tracking performance such as sports and bird photography.
AF focusing speed has been improved when starting continuous shooting by pressing the AF-ON button and the shutter button simultaneously, while the camera is not in focus. AF will focus faster than before allowing you to capture the moment even in critical situations such as sports where the situation changes from frame to frame.
3. Other improvements
The display lag that was noticeable before and after AF will not be displayed, if set to “Performance Boost EVF Frame Rate Priority”.
It is now compatible with the “TG-BT1” tripod grip. Pairing a compatible camera via Bluetooth will enable remote shutter operation for both photos and movies. When a lens equipped with power zoom is attached, the T/W button can be used for zoom operation.
