In a few weeks, Samsung is expected to launch the next generation of the series smartphones Galaxy S. Ahead of the official launch scheduled for February 8, several details about the series have leaked online Galaxy S22. Now, the latest report from Korea suggests price hikes across the range due to the semiconductor crisis.
Will Galaxy S22 have a higher price?
Tough times for the smartphone market: According to the latest findings, the price of various key components for building a phone has risen by 30-40%, while the price of power management chips and image sensor chips has risen by 10-15%.
For this very reason, the report suggests that the Galaxy S22 may have a starting price of $ 899, which is about $ 100 more than its predecessor. However, other rumors also indicate that the company will keep the same prices as the series Galaxy S21 due to growing competition from Apple and Chinese brands.
Samsung will launch three smartphones: Galaxy S22, S22 Plus e S22 Ultra. The phones will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset or the Exynos 2200 processor, depending on availability.
The standard Galaxy S22 should be a rather traditional device for the South Korean giant, and will offer a 6.06-inch display with a maximum brightness of 1000 nits. On the other hand, the S22 Plus and Ultra models will have the highest brightness among Samsung smartphones, reaching 1750 nits and contrast ratios of 3,000,000: 1.
The Galaxy S22 Plus will reportedly have a 6.55-inch display while that of the Galaxy S22 Ultra measures 6.81 inches. The Ultra model will come with a slot to hold an S-Pen stylus. For charging, the phones are said to come with a new 45W fast charging support.
