Samsung is about to launch its new foldable smartphones Galaxy Z Fold 5 e Galaxy Z Flip 5 in the coming weeks and the official renders for the press, published by MySmartPrice, have leaked online. The company has already sent out an invitation for the Galaxy Unpacked event to be held in Seoul on July 26th.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, the first official renderings leaked
According to MySmartPrice, the two foldable smartphones will be available in the US and Canadian markets on August 11, two weeks after the launch in Seoul. MySmartPrice also got the print render of the Galaxy Z Fold 5, the top model of the series.
The print render shows us the Galaxy Z Fold 5 in the blue color variant. The render also shows the S Pen, which will probably be sold separately as for the previous model. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 will have a teardrop zipper which will reduce the visibility of the crease in the center and the thickness of the device when closed.
Il external display will remain 6.2 inches, while the internal one will be narrower than the Galaxy Z Fold 4. The device will have a mobile platform Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and a water resistance IPX8. As for the main camera, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will have a sensor ISOCELL GN3, different from the ISOCELL HP2 that we find on the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
The placement of the USB Type-C port, the speaker slots and the microphone arrangement are similar to what we observed on the last generation device. We can also notice the triple rear camera setup of the phone on the back, which again looks similar to the Galaxy Fold 4. It appears that the bezel is thinner than the Galaxy Z Fold 4 which will increase the screen-to-body ratio.
So it looks like an incremental improvement, rather than a revolution. But to know all the details, we will have to wait for the July 26 event in Seoul.
