The next Google I/O 2024 will feature the generative artificial intelligence Gemini and the new mid-range Pixel 8a
Only two months left until Google I/O 2024the annual developer conference taking place on 14 maggio at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California. The event, streamed for a virtual audience, will be full of new features, with artificial intelligence and Pixel 8a who promise to be the undisputed protagonists.
Google I/O 2024: AI in focus
After the launch of the models Gemini and Gemma, Google is ready to show the world the progress made in the field of artificial intelligence. You can expect a particular focus on the functionality of image generation, recently put on hold due to some historical inaccuracies and offensive content. Google, however, has already announced that it is working on an improved version that will be presented during I/O.
Android 15 and Pixel 8a: the other stars of the event
In addition to AI, Google I/O 2024 will be an opportunity to take a first look at Android 15, the new version of the mobile operating system focused on security, performance and camera features. The first Developer Preview it is already available, while the first betas are expected in view of the conference.
On the hardware front, the Pixel 8a is the most likely candidate for the official presentation. The rumors speak of a processor Tensor G3, 8GB of RAM, a 6.1-inch OLED display and Android 14 as the operating system. The price should start from 569.90 euros, with four color variants at launch: “Obsidian” (black), “Porcelain” (beige), “Bay” (light blue) and “Mint” (light green).
Google I/O 2024: a busy agenda
In addition to keynotes and technical sessions, Google I/O 2024 will offer a wide range of events for developers and enthusiasts. Online registration is already available open and free. For those who wish to attend in person, a second day of live programming is planned for May 15th.
